Darren Valiant Wins Proving Grounds

— Set To Debut at International Affair

The first season of Proving Grounds has officially come to an end, and after ten grueling weeks of pressure, competition, growth, and survival, Darren Valiant has earned his WrestleUTA contract.

In the finale episode, titled “Next In.”, Valiant defeated Boone Mercer in the final match of the competition after landing the Valiant Shift in the center of the ring, securing the victory and officially becoming the winner of Season One.

Throughout the season, Darren entered the competition as one of the early favorites — polished, confident, and seemingly built for the spotlight. But as the weeks progressed, Proving Grounds forced him to evolve beyond first impressions. By the end, what emerged was not just a recruit who looked ready, but one who proved he could adapt, grow, and survive under pressure.

Following the match, Scott Stevens presented Darren with his official WrestleUTA contract inside the ring.

“Congratulations. You are the winner of Proving Grounds, and you have earned a WrestleUTA contract.”

Now, the next chapter begins.

WrestleUTA officials have confirmed that Darren Valiant will make his official UTA debut at International Affair as part of the high-stakes All or Nothing Match — a chaotic showcase designed to throw competitors directly into the fire on one of the company’s biggest stages.

While details surrounding the match are still being finalized, the announcement instantly raises the stakes for Valiant’s arrival. Winning Proving Grounds earned him the contract. Surviving All or Nothing could establish him as one of the company’s next breakout names.

As for Boone Mercer, despite falling short in the finals, many within the company walked away impressed with his evolution throughout the season. His final confessional made one thing very clear:

“I didn't win the contract. But I damn sure won't let this be the last time a UTA ring hears from me.”

One season has ended.

A new career begins at International Affair.
